A Spouting Insanity

so, today was a couple of firsts for my little monster (aka rosencrantz). not only did he eat some fresh food (banana, chick peas and celery) but he also cuddled with me after we both ate lunch. i'm pretty excited!

but i am feeling really run down right now, and i'm not really sure why. i think i'm getting sick again (fantastic, right in time for my audition on saturday) and i might just have a nap right now.

turns out, the job wasn't for me. oh well, it was worth a try.
luckily, i didn't quit my current job, so i still have somethign while i keep looking.

in other news, my bird seems to have fallen in love with the gloves i use to pick him up in...check it out:




my boyfriend is right...i've become THAT kind of pet owner :P haha.

I GOT THE JOB!!

i go to the training on friday and saturday where i really get to see if i'm going to like this job (i'm hoping i will, it sounds like a lot of fun!).

i'm pretty darned excited...so excited, i'm going to bed.





yay!!

so, i dont want to jinx it, but i may have a new job by next week! i'm so damned excited about it.
also, my bday is fast approaching, and i'm looking forward to my coconut cake and sushi dinner. yummm.

i guess thats all. i'm trying really hard to update as much as possible...but i lead a very boring life, so its difficult.

i'm really disliking my job. like, its been nearly a year since i've started and it makes me want to vomit at this fact. i'm attempting to find a new job, but with the shit economy and stuff, i'm worried that i wont. uhhg.


oh, and to make matters worse, the government increased minimum wage from $8.75 to $9.50...the wage i make now. fan-fucking-tastic, now i have a job that i hate, that has cut my hours in half, and i now work for minimum wage. fuck.

in more positive news, i got a part in a broadway revue i audtioned for. i think i also get a solo-esque part in a chicago medley...i hope its in 'cellblock tango' because thats just fucking awesome.

i'm gonna say that i have yet to feel this much hatred-like feelings towards my family, particularily my mother and brother, in a REALLY long time. i'm ill, i'm a little irritable. but it doesn't help to have a harping, annoying leech of a brother whom my mother lets walk all over her and when that seemingly overly tolorant mother decides to take out the angry she feels towards her free-loader son by turning on her daughter who not only feels like stabbing at her throat with her best ball-point pen, but who gets the brunt of all anger from the both of them.
i've had it. i cant wait to get a job, because as soon as i get enough money the first thing i'm looking for is a new place to live. i dont care if i have to move back to peterborough or if i have to move in with someone else until i find a place, they can have their bullshit family ignorance sessions without me.
oh, and is it too much to ask for coke for dinner that isn't riddled with chemicals (diet)? because as far as i can see, its the only thing ive really requested from her in the last week.
i cannot wait until this year ends, its been in one way, a great year, but in nearly every other, an absolute shit-filled rollarcoaster of annoyance.

Meet Adam

No, that's not a silly sweater he's wearing, they are bandages. Adam is a three month old kitten that was locked in a cage and set on fire by two teenage girls in Santa Rosa. He lost his ears, his tail and over 40% of his skin.

California has some of the most lenient animal abuse laws in the country. The absolute maximum punishment for an animal cruelty case like this is 3 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, if the offenders are charged with a felony. In most cases the charges will be plead down to a misdemeanor, and the offenders will spend less than 2 years in jail. In contrast, in Oklahoma and Louisiana the maximum sentence is 10 years and $5,000-$25,000 in fines.

What can you do about it? You can sign the petition and make sure that animal abusers are charged with felonies, not just misdemeanors. Signing the petition will also help to make laws that double the maximum jail time for animal abuse charges. Six years may not seem like much, but it's a lot better than three.

well, another theatrical chapter closes in my life. the past 4 months (nearly) have proven its worth. yesterday the lights went down on 'of enigmatic things'. after many battles about rehearsals, acing full band and set set-up in a quick 15 minutes, fighting with the sound equipment and sometimes having audiences that were not quite responsive, we have proven that we did cut it to be a part of a theatre festival. the times had been hard, happy, maddening, stressfull and ultimately, we pulled through in the end. i'll miss seeing them everyday, or nearly everyday. tess, dayna, megan, dan, ryan and kyle were all fabulous and great fun to watch. 'life sucks' tended to win over any difficult audience, the first few seconds of 'bad intentions' were absolutely rocking, 'apologize' was silly, but full of heart, 'dont admit' was simply heart-warming and 'ana's song' and 'hard ground' left you a little speechless. i hope we decide to pick this play up again in the not so distant future, because it was such a wonderful experience!

so i've been trying to post a bunch of pictures for about an hour now and i cant seem to get it to work. is anyone else having problems with livejournal today?

well, not much is happening that would be considered new. the plays are going fairly well, work is...work and i just found out that a friend of mine from high school is now a father! i just cant believe that, since he's my age and so is his fiance. its a little scary, but i've seen pictures of the baby and he's simply perfect. looks like his mom mostly. i dont know why i decided to write a post...i guess i just wanted a reason to update.

so there it is.

wow, i've been pretty busy the last little while. i finished exams, moved out of the peterborough house and away from peterborough for good. i started back at the bank last monday, thankfully steph, megan, sarah and others are still there. i got my marks back, and its a definite that i will be graduating at the end of the month! umm i'm a part of two plays: into the woods (goes up in september) and ..of enigmatic things (goes up in july) which is entered in the toronto fringe festival. fingers crossed that we bring in lots of money!

i guess thats it for now. my entries will be few and far between at this point in the summer. after fringe is over, i should be getting back to regular posting. hopefully.

not that anybody reads this, necessarily, but i have to say i'm a tad upset i dont update this journal as much as i'd like to. hopefully i'll be doing so more often once school is over. then again, i'm in two hardcore plays until the end of june plus working full time. who knows, i'm pretty awesome at multitasking.

my bday was this past weekend. i had a ton of fun: fringe festival rehearsal at brams house complete with TONS of food thanks to his mom, then i went out for dinner at this fabulous all you can eat sushi place with my parents and bram, then bram and i headed over to see a play with a bunch of theatre kids. all in all, it was wonderful. probably the best birthday i've had in a long time. it made me realize just how happy i am with the place in my life. there was nothing disappointing about the day whatsoever (well, except for the play haha). i'm terribly blessed to have the friends i have right now, as well as the most wonderful boyfriend in the world.

i was going to post pictures, but i've decided against it. i dont know, i guess i've lost my need to write this post since my parents are talking about the virgina tech tragedy...it all seems to meaningless when you hear about people dying so tragically.

RIP the victims.
